President George H W Bush's TBM Returns To The Lonestar Flight Museum!
On Oct. 2, the fully restored TBM repainted in honor of President George H.W. Bush's WWII Torpedo Bomber returns to LSFM! The restoration of the museum’s TBM-3E Avenger is nearly complete! Oct. 2-4, come enjoy a weekend of FUN! ★ It will now replicates the aircraft flown during WWII by President George H.W. Bush. ★ In honor of President Bush and his crew, their names and “Barbara III,” were also painted on the plane. ★ The public rollout of the torpedo bomber is set for Friday, October 2 and includes weekend-long events celebrating its return to the museum collection. ★ The Avenger will be available for public viewing upon the museum’s opening on Friday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. Here's the Flight Plan: ★ Friday, Oct. 2 11 a.m. - 1 p.m: Sneak-a-Peak - Take a look inside the hatch of the Avenger ★ Saturday, Oct. 3 11 a.m. - 2 p.m: Sneak-a-Peak - Take a look inside the hatch of the Avenger 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.: Avenger Hangar Talk ★ Sunday, Oct. 4 Noon - 2 p.m: Sneak-a-Peak - Take a look inside the hatch of the Avenger Noon - 2 p.m.: Paper Airplane Toss - Toss at 1:30 p.m. 1:00 p.m.: Avenger Hangar Talk The year-long restoration process was graciously underwritten by The Gary Sinise Foundation, The Robert and Janice McNair Foundation, Museum Board Member James Bath and museum donor Joe Cialone.
