National Society of Artist April Meeting
Bret Adams is a self-taught artist whose focus was primarily in fiber arts for the last forty years. She recently shifted to creating jewelry as she enjoys its appeal to a broader audience. Her recent efforts create refined pendants and earrings featuring interesting visual texture, striking color, and intriguing depth. Her primary line innovatively utilizes recycled CDs and DVDs, featuring the luster of the diskettes in revolutionary ways to offer pieces with incredible sparkle and luminescence. The processes she has developed produce organic results that ensure each piece is one of a kind with looks varying from stones to Chinese inlaid lacquer to abalone or dichroic glass but all have the advantage of being very lightweight. She has been selling her pieces at outdoor markets since October 2018 with great success and looks forward to presenting to the NSA group. Bret will do a hands-on demo of “Jewelry from Unusual Objects”. She will complete the project except for applying the resin.
