Join us for the 2019 Fashion with Compassion, a remarkable charity fashion show organized entirely by students from the Jewish Community High School of the Bay to benefit IsraAID, which is a humanitarian aid agency that responds to emergency crises and engages in international development around the world. Created by students in Los Angeles for students, Fashion With Compassion empowers its members to believe in themselves – and to take responsibility for serving as agents of change. Fashion With Compassion provides a unique platform to teach students about the professional world, build bridges between the school and the local community, and raise money for charities around the world. Last year, JCHS hosted its second Fashion with Compassion event, the event was extremely successful, as the students were able to raise over $5,000 for children in developing nations that needed life-saving heart surgery. As of 2018, IsraAID has responded to crises in 46 countries including Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the Sonoma and Napa fires in California and has ongoing programs in 17 countries.  You are not just coming to a fun, fashion-forward event, you'll be a part of empowering today's student leaders while raising funds for a deserving cause. The JCHS event, which will run about an hour and a half, will include a runway show featuring student models, with an auction of the clothes donated for the show immediately afterward. The event also includes a boutique marketplace, with vendors donating 20% of their gross sales to the charity effort.
