Scout Bar Hosts Stellar National & Global Acts to Close Out 2018

Scout Bar is a name that is synonymous by now for bringing the newest “undiscovered” acts as well as some of the biggest acts from all over the nation and the globe. November and December prove to bring even more star power, however! Check out the must-see acts upcoming at Scout Bar—and when you go, make sure to tell them The SCENE sent you!

An Evening with EVAN + Zane (featuring  Evan Rachel Wood + Zane Carney) • Wed., Nov. 14, 2018: This new power duo is making waves across the U.S. with their unique cabaret-esque sound. Evan is actually award-winning actress and singer Evan Rachel Wood of Westworld fame, among other prominent shows, and Zane is Grammy-nominated guitarist/singer-songwriter Zane Carney, known for his work with everyone from John Mayer to U2. A star-studded show not to be missed!  Doors: 7:30 p.m.; Show: 8:30 p.m.

Hoobastank – The Reason 15th Anniversary Tour w/Secondhand Serenade and Lies of an Alibi • Fri., Nov. 23, 2018: The three-time Grammy-nominated band perhaps best known for its song “The Reason,” Hoobastank is back for The Reason’s 15th Anniversary Tour. The band is back with their sixth studio album, their first since Fight or Flight (2012). Secondhand Serenade and local Houston favorites Lies of an Alibi will open the show. Doors: 7 p.m.; Show: 8 p.m.

Smile Empty Soul w/Asleep in the Wake, Pretty Vacant, Dead Set Red, Khan • Sat., Nov. 24, 2018: The California-based band hits the Scout stage in late November with their unique brand of self-described “post-grunge” from the late ’90s. To date, Smile Empty Soul has released 7 full-length studio albums, the first of which went gold, 2 EPs, and more. Supporting acts include Asleep in the Wake, Pretty Vacant, Dead Set Red, and Khan. Get ready to rock on the, Clear Lake!  Doors: 7 p.m.; Show: 8 p.m.

King’s X w/Peace and the Chaos, Rain Child, Billy Rocks • Fri., Nov. 30, 2018: The legendary band King’s X returns November 30 for another killer rock show! SCENE readers may recall an exciting interview that lead vocalist and world-renowned bassist dUg Pinnick gave me last January in which he recounted his incredible music career and touring with some of the biggest rock bands in music history, including KISS, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones and AC/DC. Since 1979, Pinnick (bass/vocals), Jerry Gaskill (drums/vocals), and Ty Tabor (guitar/vocals)—collectively known as the progressive metal and soul trio King’s X— have been making hit records and  playing shows all over the world. The band has since ranked #83 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, and have also released over a dozen albums featuring the radio hits "It’s Love," "Black Flag," and "Dog Man." Doors: 7 p.m.; Show: 8 p.m.

Everlast • Sun, Dec 2, 2018: Everlast, also known at times as Whitey Ford and Erik Francis Shrody, may be best known for his time with House of Pain or his hit single “What It’s Like,” still in heavy rotation on rock stations some two decades later. Back with a new album, Whitey Ford’s House of Pain, Everlast will bring his blend of hip-hop, rock, folk, funk, and R&B to Scout on December 2. Doors: 7 p.m.; Show: 8 p.m.

Drowning Pool w/Sons of Texas, To Whom It May, Shaving Susie • Fri., Dec. 7, 2018: Let the bodies hit the floor, and Drowning Pool hit the stage! The band best known for their hit single “Bodies” from 2001 has been releasing several rock chart-toppers including 2009’s “37 Stitches” and “Feel Like I Do,” touring both the U.S. and abroad, and performing for troops all over the world, as well.  Drowning Pool will rock the Scout stage on December 7th with supporting acts Sons of Texas, To Whom It May, and Shaving Susie. Doors: 6:30 p.m.; Show: 7 p.m.

The Guitar Collective III - Angel Vivaldi / Nita Strauss w/Jacky Vincent, The Steve Satchel Band, Russ Driver Band • Wed., Dec. 12, 2018: Get ready for a dynamic show of guitar virtuosity on December 12! World-renowned, award-winning guitarist Angel Vivaldi, firmly in the progressive/neoclassical metal category, will shred the stage on December 12. Accompanying him will be Nita “Hurricane” Strauss, who is perhaps best known for her work with The Iron Maidens (all-female Iron Maiden tribute band) and Orianthi in the band of Alice Cooper. Several dynamic supporting acts including Jacky Vincent, The Steve Satchel Band, and the Russ Driver Band make this a night not to be missed!  Doors: 7 p.m.; Show 7:30 p.m.
