October Hauntings in Time for Halloween

An historical haunting is happening October 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rosenberg Library in Galveston. Alicia and Gina of Lantern Light Tours is taking the attendees on a journey through the Haunted History of Galveston. There will be photos from the epic past and audio from the 1900 Storm survivors. There will be haunted tales of Galveston Island while enjoying great food. The Rosenberg Library is in the original 1904 building in Galveston. The Moody Wing opened in 1971, more than doubling the floor space. From the start the library includes a children’s department, history center and museum. This is a free event. 
 
On October 5 and 6, The Friends of Rosenberg Library is holding the annual book sale, Friday is from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The membership preview is Thursday, October 4. Memberships are available at the door. Thousands of used books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, and videos will be for sale. This sale is on the 2nd floor in the historical Rosenberg Library at 2310 Sealy, Galveston, phone 409-783-8854, website, www.rosenberg-library.org.

On October 6, the first-ever paranormal investigation and Ghost Hunt of the Historical Butterowe Building, a 1900 Storm Survivor and temporary morgue of the 1900 Storm. Currently Home to the Haunted Mayfield Manor and Pirates of the Gulf Coast attractions. Find out why Galveston’s only year-round haunting is really haunted. Spirits of the Levy Building is Friday, October 12, where Paranormal Investigation Ghost Hunt and Halloween Party. Many in the Strand will be opening their doors for those looking for ghosts to come in and explore this very haunted building that survived the 1900 Storm. Your ticket will get you in the door of National Hotel Artists Loft and a drink at bar and food. Bring “ghost hunting equipment” to this one of kind event. Check in starts at 9 p.m. and Investigation starts at 10 p.m. Located at 2221 Market Street in Galveston.

The Historic Downtown District Ghost Hunt is Saturday, October 19. Ghost stories will be told and investigating the Strand. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing and bring “ghost hunting” equipment as everyone prowls the Historical Strand District. Meet at the Proletariat at 2221 Market St., Galveston.
