Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation hosts Starry Night Houston 8.5K

Sep 14, 2015 01:21PM ● By SCENE MAGAZINE STAFF
WHAT: Join us at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Starry Night Houston 8.5K, an evening walk/run followed by food, entertainment, games and fun for the whole family. The course will include a shorter distance for walkers. Anyone can do it!

Each one of the 28,000 steps in this 8.5K honors one of our Stars, the 28,000 children in the U.S. living with a brain tumor. After the walk/run, you and your fellow supporters will light the nighttime sky with lanterns to symbolize hope for a cure for one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer.

The evening also features a kids’ 50-yard dash, family activities and other entertainment. Plus, we’ll highlight the stories of local Stars.

Starry Night 8.5K events raise funds for research to combat more than 100 types of childhood brain tumors. They also support services for families at a local hospital or community organization. WHEN:  Saturday, October 3, 2015. Registration starts at 4 p.m. and closes at 5 p.m. The 8.5K starts at approximately 5:30 p.m.

WHERE:  Sesquicentennial Park, 400 Texas Ave., Houston, TX 77002 For more information, visit mystarrynight.org, or call the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at 800-253-6530.
