Cock and Bull British Pub: Where Every Family Is Treated Like Royalty

Apr 30, 2015 11:07PM ● By Corinne Moore
There is news and then there is news you can use.

For example, Buckingham Palace is all-abuzz about Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcoming their second child soon… Congratulations!

And in Seabrook, The Cock & Bull British Pub now has baby chairs. So bring the entire family for a bite of American cuisine or an authentic British lunch or dinner today! See what I mean?

At The Cock & Bull British Pub, located at 3659 NASA Parkway in Seabrook, every family is treated like royalty. “This is ‘fun’ dining, not ‘fine’ dining,” assured the Cock and Bull’s owners David and Jeanette Walker.

Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu includes bacon wrapped meatloaf served with mash and sautéed spinach, ham and cheese quiche served with a tossed salad and spinach strawberry salad with bacon, blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Chef Valarie Gauntt is excited at the response to The Cock & Bull’s updated menus, “Our Paddy’s Grilled Bone-in Pork Chops have quickly become customer favorites!”

The delectable menu features British culinary favorites like Steak & Mushroom Pie (succulent cuts of beef in a delicate gravy alongside their famous mashers and mixed veggies); Fish and Chips (signature battered cod served up with fries and peas); Shepherd’s Pie (sautéed ground beef and vegetables and gravy topped with their cheddar mash); and Belfast Bangers and Mash (pork bangers-sausage-with sautéed onions on mash, gravy, and baked beans).

American cuisine is also offered in the form of a Deluxe Triple Decker BLT; burgers; and a meatball sandwich – just to name a few.

The Kid’s Menu goes up to age 14 and is sure to please even the pickiest eater. Choices include a fish po-boy on a hoagie roll, a mini shepherd’s pie, sweet chili ribs, The Cock & Bull Meatballs, chicken tenders, and mac-N-cheese.

The dinner menu is available well into the night offering new menu items such as the London Tower Burger (fresh ground beef grilled to perfection and topped with sautéed onions, pepper jack cheese, HP sauce and a butterflied banger sausage).

On Sundays, The Cock & Bull prepares a “True Brit Brunch” that is served until 4 p.m. The menu includes breakfast items such as Eggs Benedict (toasted English muffin topped with spinach, grilled ham, poached eggs, holandaise sauce), waffles and the Queen’s Omelet (made with spinach and cheese).

Enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and the beverages. The Cock & Bull boasts 17 beers on tap (five of which are British: Boddington’s Pub Ale, Guinness, Murphy’s Irish Stout, Fuller's London Pride, and a pear cider) and a few local favorites such as Galactic Coast, Galveston Bay and Southern Star. The brand selection and flavors that lovingly flow from the tap will vary. Just know that once a specialty beer has “tapped” out, it’s gone and another brilliant brew will take its place. More than 40 bottled craft beers are also available for your imbibing pleasure. As the beer offerings change on a frequent basis, so does the wine – and plenty of unique and satisfying tastes are in stock.

Since opening in early 2012, The Cock & Bull British Pub has welcomed patrons into the pub’s fun and distinctly British atmosphere. The dark wooden bar, a rich red theme, and an eclectic mix of just about everything the British culture represents parlayed into an overall comfortable and interesting setting complete with a large full-service bar area, a dining area, a dart room, and a library lounge. Each room has an individual personality that’s fit for a king, the common man, and even Lord WentWorth. (Check him out as you walk in. He loves to pose for pictures!)

The Cock and Bull hosts many cool events to break up the workweek. Check out their ad in this issue of The SCENE Magazine.

The pub opens at 11 a.m. every day. For added convenience, complimentary valet service is available on many weekday evenings and weekend evenings. Come have a jolly good time at The Cock and Bull British Pub and Restaurant.
