El Jardin del Mar Hosts 29th Annual Bayfest on October 4

Sep 03, 2014 02:35PM ● By SCENE MAGAZINE STAFF
It’s that time of the year when the community of El Jardin del Mar, located in Pasadena, hosts their annual Bayfest event on Saturday, October 4. It’s free and family friendly. Enjoy a day on Galveston Bay at the El Jardin Bayfront Park from noon to 6 p.m. with vendors, moonwalks, games for adults and children, live music, and much more.

Live music by Cassette Tape, Audic Empire, Fear The Poet, and In Altum.

Cassette Tape can be described as indescribable. To this local band, it’s more about the experience, than the genre. Their influences are wide ranging from classic rock, modern heavy rock, to Spanish folk music. All of this forms the building blocks to the experimental, hip hop, progressive reggae that has the band flexing their musical muscles into a unique sound.

Audic Empire was formed in late 2010. Since then, they have been turning heads in the Austin music scene with their psychedelic, reggae rock and feel good tunes. They have a high intensity performance and an astonishing sound with the contrast of two singers, their red-hot solo guitarist, and rock solid rhythm section.

Fear The Poet is a quartet based out of the greater Houston area. Their sound is a nice fusion of jazz, blues, folk, and emotional vocals. They are driven to perform music that they love to play and that you can dance to, sing with, or just sit back and listen to.

In Altum, League City’s own progressive, eclectic rock quintet, is passionately driven to create a style of music that reflects their wide range of influences and who they are as a band. They love making music that lowers entropy. Think about that.

BBQ and alcohol tickets will be available for purchase. No outside food or drink is allowed. El Jardin, a quiet southeastern Harris County neighborhood, is located at the north end of Todville Rd. in Pasadena just north of Seabrook. Go to www.eljardindelmar.org for directions.
