An old Irish saying goes something like this, “There are only two kinds of people in the world, the Irish and those who wish they were…” So what do you do if you are not Irish? Well, head over to Dempsey’s Irish Grill of course!

“A good Irish American establishment makes everyone comfortable,” said owner John Delesandri. “There are no strangers at Dempsey’s, only friends you haven't met yet.”

Located at 20801 Gulf Freeway at NASA Road One in the Bally’s Fitness shopping center, Dempsey’s is the place for crawfish, fresh food, hot specials on cold drinks, and a lot of fun!

Make plans to attend Dempsey’s St. Patty’s Day celebration on March 17. Irish bagpipes will be entertaining all day and musical guests include Ezra beginning at noon, 3 Peace at 3 p.m., and Bad Boyfriend from 7 to 11 p.m. A friendly Irish Pot Pie eating contest will start at 4 p.m. with the winner receiving $50 cash. A leprechaun toss from noon to 8 p.m. will be interesting to either compete in or watch. The winner will be announced at 9 p.m. and receive a $300 cash prize. All day long is $4-a-pound crawfish, $3 Guinness, $3 Jameson, and complimentary Guinness beef stew.

The holiday celebrations at Dempsey’s are epic, but so are the regular weekly specials. Starting the week is Sunday Funday with $2 domestic drafts and $4-a-pound crawfish. Two outdoor acoustic shows with surprise musicians are featured from 3 to 6 p.m. and from 9 to 11 p.m.

Skip cooking dinner at home on Mondays. It’s all-you-can-eat crawfish for $16.99 or $5.50 per pound from 6 to 9 p.m. and $4 Hurricanes, too.  Dempsey’s Tuesday’s specials are $5.50 per pound crawfish all day, and from 9 p.m. until midnight, enjoy you-call-it mixed drinks for $2 and free juke box.

If you don’t have a blarney stone to bring you luck, consider getting lucky with a Wednesday night hump day special. Get some $3-a-pound crawfish plus $2.50 domestic bottles and $4 bombs all night! On Thursday nights, it’s ladies’ night and the specials are numerous: $4.50-a-pound crawfish all day, $2 margaritas and house wine, $2.50 Lime-A-Ritas, $5 Dempsey’s Texas tea, $7 rib-eye with fries, and a $4 grilled chicken salad. The T.G.I.F. Friday night specials at Dempsey’s are unique. Grab a bucket with beer! A domestic beer bucket is $36 and a premium or import bucket is $41. The bucket special holds 12 beers. Simply add $10 to keep the Texans bucket. It’s a 5-gallon bucket that is perfect for holding tools!

Dempsey’s Irish Grill opens daily at 11 a.m. with Chef Celestino Manning creating new lip smacking menu items. Experience a Dempsey’s Ding Ding (Italian sausage sautéed with peppers, onions and Amaretto; then topped with cheese). Other signature offerings are Dempsey’s Famous Philly and their pickled eggs. Try the new Al's Columbianos (five Colombian pastries with jalapeño, cilantro, pepper jack cheese, onions and served with sour cream and salsa). If you want a taste of Irish goodness, opt for Shepherd’s Pie or Guinness Beef Stew. Of course, you can never go wrong with a mouth-watering hamburger made to order just the way you like it!

Since 2010, Dempsey’s has been serving great food and supporting local bands.  Live entertainment takes center stage on Friday and Saturday nights. In March, Trip To Cascity and Ezra will be performing. Check www.DempseysPubTX.com for band updates. You can also join Dempsey’s for UFC fights on March 2 and 16.

Dempsey’s is considered a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. So, if you want to paint the town green, head on over… Eat, drink, and be Irish!
