Jan 03, 2011 08:00PM ● By John Ennis
It’s that time of year again! A Clear Lake favorite is almost upon us again when diners can sample more than 40 restaurants, sip on their choice of various adult beverages, enjoy live entertainment and get entry into Space Center Houston all on one ticket.

The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Epicurean Evening will be held in 2011 on Thursday, February 3 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The popular event features food, spirits, a silent auction and live music in a family-friendly environment. This is the ninth year Epicurean will be held at Space Center Houston where there’s something for everyone to do while sampling bites from as many of the 40-plus restaurant booths as one can visit. Adult tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Children’s tickets ages 4 to12 years are $10, and children 3 and under are free.

Presale tickets can be purchased from the Chamber office at 1201 NASA Parkway and Randall’s Clear Lake City Blvd. and Randall’s South Shore. Group discounts available.

Sponsors on board (as of press time) include Four Star Sponsor JSC Federal Credit Union, Host Space Center Houston, Beverage and Award Sponsor Silver Eagle Distributors, Award Sponsor Greystar Properties, Raffle Sponsor Best Buy, Beverage Booth Sponsors Faust Distributing and Visiting Angels, Living Assistance Services. Media sponsor Bay Area Media Services (BAMS), publisher of The SCENE magazine is returning for their 9th year of sponsorship and booth participation.

“This is one of my favorite annual events and our staff looks forward to it every year,” explained Bay Area Media Services co-founder John Ennis.  It’s fun to see how creative and competitive the restaurants get in regards to booth presentation and participation.”

Restaurants are judged on Presentation of Food, Creativity of Booth and Overall Showmanship. First, second and third prizes are given in each category. The booth scoring the highest in all categories is awarded the coveted “Out of this World” trophy.

This event is open to the public, and each year, brings more than 2,500 attendees. All food establishments are invited to participate (CLACC membership is not required.) Sponsorship packages are still available for any business that would like to participate. Silent auction items are also appreciated. Mark your calendars now, and we will see you at the event!
